  1. Hello All Stoners,

I want to produce an affordable, small, mobile metal bong (either titanium or stainless steel) suitable for all outdoor activities. This includes hiking, skiing, cycling, camping - essentially anywhere outdoorsy where you are on the move and bringing a glassy is impractical due to its fragility.

I noticed there are only a few out there at this stage however they seem to be extremely expensive and are also all sold out???. My friend and I are on a mission to bring this product to life at an affordable price, as a little side project (why not! How cool is designing a bong). We are in the process of getting prototypes made, and given the niche, taboo nature of bongs (at least in AUS) we feel at times we are operating blind.

My main questions to all who may be interested in this are:
    1. How concerned are you in the type of material - Titanium, Stainless Steel

    2. How much would you be willing to pay for such a product?
Any response is appreciated - this is a little project as I just want an indestructible bong.

As a bong builder myself I'll reply. Whatever material you use, you want to be able to see thru it IMO. Metal dents/bends, and titanium is way too expensive. For me glass rules! Yes thin glass if fragile, thicker glass not so much. I could get by for a few days with a "plexi glass" bong, joints or a pipe I suppose. If your goal is to get rich, you would need to sell a shitload of them so I would keep the price point below 50$ if possible as I would buy more weed vs a 300$ bong.

  4. Materials labor ,machinery the building your going makes in utilities.
    Insurance ,shipping packaging advertising.
If the price is 50$ then you will be wholesale @ 25 Bucks per bong shipped to your retailers .
    Zero business plan .

Even if I had 100.000 bongs sold locally. I wouldn't attempt it. To many major hurtles and I own all the machinery needed to make a Bong out of some kind of metal... which isnt going to fly.. as nachoboomer said IT's got to be glass....

  5. Glass allows the noob toker to see the silly action, for average tokers glass is easy to clean, and you can see it being done not in metal, the most important for me is the ability of the bong to be cleaned with ease 2-3 mins and you're done
I think you left it to late. titanium vape could be new?

  6. I would like a solid gold bong encrusted with exactly 69 diamonds.

  8. I would like a titanium hand pipe from a billet of titanium spun on a lathe, what say you HHP??? doable?

  9. *turned on a lathe.

  10. OR as the Rock used to say you can turn it sideways &....

  11. Or you could just learn the correct terminology, but then again, don't want to overwork the ole gray matter too much, right nacho.

  12. word police got it. thanks for correcting me , every chance you get. Does it make you feel better? Nacho said spin instead of turn!!! alert the media. What kind of ass hat gives a shit?

  13. I do. How the hell do you expect to advance as a species if don't know left from right. Never known anyone so opposed to knowledge as yourself. How bout saying "thank you, I've learned something new."? Did you ever think to try that?

  14. Not for nothing but nobody was talking to you, I'm sure HHP got my drift so F.O.

  15. That's untrue, I was talking to you. Deflection won't get you out of this. Answer my above question, unless you can't.

  16. In YOUR case hell no, If your intention was to teach I could easily accept that. Your intentions are to merely put down others & feel better yourself for doing so. A classic POS move that you do all the time & why you are back on the ignore list.

  17. I would assume a titanium bong for $130 is fake.

Plus there's silicone bongs for like $20.

  18. Nothing about my original posts were putting anyone down in any way. If you'd like to quote where I supposedly did such things I'll be waiting. Correcting people doesn't make me feel anything, however knowledge is power. Staying mentally stagnant is of no benefit.

  19. Sure .. you pay for the labor and to convert my lathe to mount a live spindle on the tool post and my materials.

I have been mounting live cutters on lathes for a decades

  20. I thought I posted the answer to your question. I have not machined Titanium.
I don't think there would be a issue using a lathe or one of mine with a live spindle mounted on the tool post.
Pretty much converting a Lathe into Mill.
I understand this was somewhat of a trick question.
Live cutter on the tool post ,, machining wood ..
