Alright so I have this idea of what I want to do, but am not quite sure the best way to go about it without spending too much money/and or wasting my time (because maybe a product like this exists somewhere already?). Basically what I want to do is take a 10 dollar Battery box from Walmart. Put a 12v Battery in there rigged to a power inverter. The idea is to have something somewhat waterproof that I can take with me to the river when my friends and I go rafting. I want it to be powerful enough to run my DBV vaporizer and charge a couple of cell phones over a course of maybe a 3 or 4 hour float. I realize I probably wont need a full size car battery to make this happen, but I want to know if anyone that has done something like this has any tips or experience regarding this matter? I haven't seen anything like this on the forums, just some posts about power inverters, but what I am trying to do is rig this box up to be my own portable power inverter for a good while (3-4 hours like I said.) So here are some questions I have. I am looking at getting the Cobra CPI 480 400 Watt Power inverter because it has everything I *think* I want but am not sure about the wattage. What can I realistically look at powering with this inverter for a 3-4 possibly 5 hour adventure? Also like I stated above I know that I probably wont need a full size car battery, but I'm not sure what exactly is going to suit my needs the best here. Remember If this little rig works I can always upgrade the battery for other ventures I may have (camping mainly) but for now I'm just looking for something that will hold a solid charge for a good 3-5 hour adventure. Anyone got any suggestions based on what I am talkin about? What I am envisioning is a battery box with one side dedicated to the battery/inverter and the other side dedicated to housing the vaporizer itself (and cell phones) with hose holes in the side of the box for the vap hose and possibly adding a surge protector on the outside or the inside of the lid of the box itself. I haven't begun assembling this project yet, but i have alot of ideas and am welcoming any that you good sirs (and ma'ams) might have to offer! Let me know anything you have that might be creative I want to hear it all! PS. Maybe for camping, but I'm not going to hike or backpack camping, I'm not down carrying a fucking car battery around when I already got enough shit to carry. Get one of those solar panels. Fuck it, vapes don't even get me high, I'll just stick with my bong!
This is why I was asking bout smaller batteries and what I can get away with with the smallest battery possible.. Did you even read my full post or were you just intent on throwing out your pro bong propoganda?? car batteries weigh what, prob 40-50 lbs? do you really think that extra weight (and bulk) is necessary just so you can vaporize? also, I really don't see the point if you're only going out for 3-4 hours. Maybe if you go for a couple days, but I think you could manage to live off the grid even for that. Also have you even looked at the power requirements of the dbv? That should be your first step, to see if the requirements are feasible with a 12v battery. My suggestion: buy a portable vape, or just roll a few joints.
