Advanced Seeds Gelato 33

  1. Thanks Porky! I'm definitely happy with their genetics this far

Flower day 34 or 35. I'm not 100% sure, but I've either got a slight nute, or light burn, or on the brink of a potassium deficiency. Tips of the sides of leaves are brown/burnt. I only noticed it the past week, and thinking something somehow in the tea was too much. Just in case I pulled the lights up a few inches. With being this late in the game I'm just letting them ride. You can notice a very pronounced difference in bud structure between the 2 phenos. I'm excited to sample these in a couple weeks!

  2. So as we come closer to the end the soil is depleting. Definitely 1 plant next run in no less than a 10g pot. Might just do a 20 and call it. I'm happy we've made it this far before throwing deficiencies. Just gonna let them ride

  3. Day 40. Think the tea gave them a boost. Still a little rough, but ive grown worse. Putting out new pistils and starting to swell a little.

    I should have listened about 7g pots not being big enough, but live and learn 20200629_042045.jpg 20200629_042058.jpg 20200629_042123.jpg 20200629_042112.jpg 20200629_042129.jpg 20200629_042153.jpg 20200629_042215.jpg 20200629_042204.jpg 20200629_042158.jpg

  5. Nice man, looking good! I agree its a tough strain. I actually snapped a top and was literally hanging on by only strands of fiber. Forgot about it, a week later was literally still growing lmfao. I used it for a clone once I realized how bad it was, but I think it woulda kept growing. Seemed a little finicky but might just been me.

Just to be sure its not a heat issue on the right plant I raised that light a couple inches. When I raised the light on the left plant that seemed to help, but i can't say either way really.

Tomorrow will be another watering, but ima mix a little molasses in as well, and I'll be starting a tea for Friday. I'll make a post of that process.

If any of you organic pros have any advice, please feel free

  7. Well we'll all keep learning together. I can read stuff a thousand times and still be lost, but experimentation sticks with me forever.

Went ahead and started the tea, going for 48 hr brew. Total for a 3g batch is right around 2.5 cups ingredients
    1/2c castings
    1/2c hummus
    1/4c cup neem
    1/4c alfalfa
    1/4c guano
1/4c kelp well closer to half cup honestly
And a scoop of glacial rock dust, no real measurements just a small scoop, probably 1/3c
Then a 5 second drizzle of molasses. Now i may dilute this come Friday with an extra gallon of water, but i think it'll be okay

Last tea I used 2 4" round airstones, but this time I'm using only 1, and the other line is wide open. Not sure what size bubbles work best? I've read big, small, and no airstones, everyone does it different it seems so we're experimenting here. I use dollar store stockings to put the dry ingredients, then I mix the molasses into the water really well, put air lines in and then the loaded stocking. I also just use dumbell locks to keep the lines weighted down. I know I know its all kinds of ghetto, but it works

  8. Happy Independence Day for those in the states, Happy Saturday to those that aren't! Here they are in all their burnt glory lmao! Today is around day 45, in all honesty i think im probably around day 50 due to fast transition from longer veg. I do believe breeder date for this strain are correct at finishing from day 57-63, got a bit of cloudy and a little amber coming through. Should finish in 2 or 3 weeks max.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  10. Another 2 weeks and it'll be wrapped up. Had a cut I wanted to show. I took the top dead stuff off just now, but nice roots coming out the cup. So even when we think they won't make it, remember this solo cup lol. Guess ill tp her today 20200707_060907.jpg 20200707_060924.jpg 20200707_060933.jpg 20200707_061412.jpg 20200707_061433.jpg 20200707_061455.jpg 20200707_061500.jpg 20200707_061509.jpg

  11. Good morning everyone! Today is day 52 or 53 of flower. Just been pulling leaves off as they die, if i pull them and they don't let go ill leave em a couple days. So I finally got off my ass and did a mid pot slurry, ppms were only 112 so yeah that soils been well on its way to spent. I topped dressed with some kelp and guano, its probably too late esp for slow to break down guano, but we'll see maybe they'll finish strong. Lots of foxtail going on as we finish. Yesterday I took 2 sample buds 1 from each plant, should be smokable tomorrow.

I think with their colors coming in they actually look kinda pretty! Much love friends, I hope everyone is doing well

  14. Hello, nice looking buds. Were you waiting on 30% Amber?

    • Like Like x 1
  15. Thanks! No I'm just waiting for the fresh pistils to turn at this point.

After I run the clones I wont run this strain again for a bit. Buds are on the small side, but maybe thats partly to do with soil issues? Guess we'll see how the 20g pot goes then ill make the final decision.

I think im going to run a single light this time too, half thinking its too much running both for this strain

  16. I noticed a good amount of Amber trichomes. I was wondering what % you think your at ?

  17. Yeah the pics with sugar leaves are definitely amber, but can't go by those. The other pics of calyx areas are closer to the full picture, maybe 5% amber at most. Still a little more clear than I like. I'll get better trich shots tomorrow. But we are definitely close. Breeder says 55-60 days, I started flower days after transition, so won't be long. Don't want too much amber being indica, and also that'll ill make caps out of a lot of it.

I will need to switch the vegging plant over fairly soon, so that may play a little on my decision again

  19. Looking good man

What sort of yield you estimating from them ? My gelato is probably my favourite out of the 4 very frosty and very tight nugs
