Adjusting Light Intensity

Discussion in 'Lighting' started by Corkwheats, Apr 17, 2021.

  1. Hey Guys,

I have an H.L.G. set up with 4 QB288 V2 Boards that I built (love it!).
Since I'm "vertically challenged" I'd like to tweak down the light intensity.
There are 2 V.R.'s on the Meanwell Driver. One is Vo and one is Io.
    Which one do I adjust?

    Thanks,
    Bob

  2. You want to adjust current out... that's Io.

  3. You have to cap the current first then use the voltage pot to dim.
Check this video out he explains how to properly adjust those dimmer pots. (22 minute mark)

  4. Thanks so very much. Believe it, or not, I actually have an electronics degree (from nearly 40 years ago), but am not interested in "going Einstein" with meters hooked up, etc.
I just want someone to say, "Turn this up, or turn this down".
I wrote to H.L.G., and they're pretty good about getting back.
And, I do seriously appreciate the input - just a bit much for me.

    Thanks,
    Bob

  5. I have no electrical degree and believe it or not that video is pretty much in layman's terms.

If you just want someone to say turn this up or down. Here you go. Turn that knob up and down and you're good...

Doesn't sound like good advice lmfao

  6. I'm more interested in how you built your panels and don't know how to adjust the intensity from the beginning. Then freak out when you see a multimeter lol

  7. What driver do you have?

  8. Thanks, Scooby. I'll check today, and get back.
