the point i was initially trying to make was that in order for that tiny little portable thing to work properly, it MUST have a carbon filter in it, otherwise the smoke is just being blown around without having the particles causing the smell being filtered out of the environment. And i didn't buy one because I felt it would be fun to build this little thing, and I feel it is much more portable. its not an actual toking device, so you don't pack the bud anywhere, but its used to filter the smoke you exhale into the intake side of the fan and completely rid your room of the scent of weed. Any of you who are thinking about doing this totally should. soldering iron's come super cheap at a radioshack or home improvement store. Ideally everyone's Hakko would pull double duty. thanks for the feedback and rep guys.XD
I love home mades. Have a legit bowl and vape now but back in the day i made so many bongs, gravity bongs. Those were the days. Thats tight.
That's a great little device, but nothing beats a vaporizer in terms of stealth. Smoking still makes noise and smoke ALWAYS goes everywhere, not matter what you use. My magic flight launch box is completely silent, can be used in public (library, bathrooms, theaters, restaurants) because there is no smell with vapor, especially when you ghost the hits. nothing comes out!
i love how inventive stoners are lol myself ive made many things such as gravitys and other things its just a lot of fun
I love how many people think that this is a vape or smoking device, though OP and other keep saying it's not. I'm assembling my own right now
im pretty sure its just a box where after you take your hit, you blow the hit through the box and the fan blows it out a carbon fliter, thus taking out the smell of mj.
That looks sick, might try and build one myself this weekend if i can find the right parts because i have a soldering iron.
this is cool, if you can find filters big enough i guess you could put it over a mini fan like some 1 said. just wouldn't be that portable but good for home use.
Here is a vid of how to make this on youtube with a carbon filter. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klTfk6L7o6o]YouTube - Weekend Project: Mini Fume Extractor[/ame]
^ I have that fan haha 4 bucks at Wally World. But i don't know how you would attach a carbon filter to it, cuz it's kinda awkwardly shaped. That altoid thing is cool though, i'm going to make one this weekend i think. Anyone find it ironic though that in the video, the guy is inhaling the fumes he is trying to get rid of?
wow this is too cool not to bump, sorry for diging up an old thread. of course u could just use a sploof
very nice, op. random question: what's your major? just curious, i love seeing when people do little projects like this and i just want to know if it's related in any way to what you're studying or if it's just something you did!
