I have a home made stone pipe my good friend made for me. I was wondering, would getting it too hot make it crack? Like from the differences in temperature on the different parts of the pipe at any given time? And yea i know, it has a lump. Its where a bit of iron was actually in the stone. Its just a humble little pipe, but man it hits hard.
Also, ive been tryin to hit some of the resin out of it, and i dont wanna crack it, so yea there ya go lol sorry im fuckin buzzin.
Dont like glass, and joints are a hassle when you need to pick up and smoke right at the moment. Cant dick around trying to roll up a joint incase someone finds out what im doing. Then there is ALOT of explaining. "No, weed isnt even bad for you. Quit freaking the fuck out, god damn."
I was reared on stone, damn it! No, seriously, its just a good piece to me. smokes good, cools down fast, and that particular piece is made of some special stone like the Native americans used. Its expensive material. but i got it for free

Oh. I think i dont like glass is because it feels more fragile. But yea, i really like this particular piece. It hits HARD, gets you stoned off little weed, and its got good memories attached... woo! *goes off into monolog about his wonderful adventures as STONERMAN! His suite has a superman S-symbol, but its green!* Come on, that would b a great super hero. Flying around with a joint in his mouth, his eyes are really fuckin red, hes SO high he can fly!
i dont think anything will happen to your pipe.. they wouldnt make them if it would just crack when it got hot
Well, my friend hand-crafted this for me. I mean ive got it pretty fuckin hot before, hot enough to burn you if you touch it, but i dont know if im pushin the limit with this pipe.

Stone material is my fav, too. I've smoked from soapstone that was in the freezer for a bit before we lit up. The smoke was cold, a neat feeling, for sure. I have a granite pipe in the mail to me right now. Can't wait to break it in!
This kinda makes me wonder, are some stones better than others? If I'm interested in purchasing a stone pipe or chillum what should I look for? Also unrelated but anyone try the glycerin pipes meant to be frozen? Do those ever crack?
No, thank you. I think they are ugly, more fragile, and WAY over-priced. I was not impressed when I tried any of the "cool people's" glass stuff. It's just not for me. I'm glad you have found something that works for you, though.
