i recently spent some time in the promised land and availed myself to the best the amsterdam coffeeshops had to offer. here are the results, in the order i smoked them: (consumption methods used where spliff (weed + 100% natural tobacco) and my magic flight launch box) every strain was smoked on a "clean head" at least once. Kali Mist (2 g) aquired: Greenhouse Seeds (Harlemmerstraat) smoked strain before: no verdict: strong high was all in the top of the head subtle but pleasing smell and taste (flowery/fruity) this one had virtually no ceiling and could be smoked all day no dry eyes rating: A Cheese (1 g) aquired: Homegrown Fantasy smoked strain before: no verdict: slight lemony smell, no cheese smell or taste, reminded me a bit of some skunk #1 i grew some time ago medium strong long lasting high up/functional high tops out pretty soon almost no dry eyes rating: B- Super Lemon Haze (2 g) aquired: Greenhouse Seeds (Harlemmerstraat) smoked strain before: no verdict: lovely lemon smell and taste medium strong spacey/up high was fun in large doses quickly gone (1 day) no dry eyes if you have vast quantities of this available, it is a lovely strain rating: B+ LSD (3 g) aquired: Amnesia Coffeeshop smoked strain before: yes verdict: i had this before, but this time the smell wasn't nearly as powerful, but the taste remained spicy and aromatic. caused some head-pressures/headaches noticeable ceiling buzz made me want to sit the fuck down high felt in top/back of head overall i have to downgrade this from my previous review. wasn't as happy with it as before. rating: B Jack Herer (2 g) aquired: Homegrown Fantasy smoked strain before: yes verdict: fantastic, clean, up high, with no head pressure repeated use retained a good quality high no distinct smell/taste very good on top of other strains strong stuff this was one of the best strains i smoked. seriously thinking about growing it. rating: A+ Power Plant (1 g) aquired: Yanks Coffeeshop smoked strain before: no verdict: initial buzz and the high were felt uncomfortably in throat-area. was immobilizing because of feelings of nausea spacey/up-high after ceiling was reached, rest was quickly gone not for me rating: C Blueberry (1 g) aquired: Yanks Coffeeshop smoked strain before: no verdict: buzz was felt in throat and face immobilizing, tiring stone somewhat uncomfortable strong weed, medium long lasting not my kind of weed at all rating: C- Amnesia Haze (1 g) aquired: Yanks Coffeeshop smoked strain before: yes verdict: pleasant taste and smell strong buzz felt between eyes and nose no body dry eyes after a lot high was missing an "edge" good on top of other strains rating: A- Acapulco Gold (2 g) aquired: Barney's Lounge smoked strain before: no verdict: very strong buzz first felt in face, then moved to throat/chest area vibrating/pulsating buzz, a wild ride. it gave me the shakes so bad i couldn't roll for an hour. fantastic fruity smell and taste, reminds me a bit of some euforia i grew dense, sticky nugs, very well grown one of the most memorable strains on this trip rating: A California Haze (2 g) aquired: Rokerij (not sure which one) smoked strain before: no verdict: had an unusual smell - not at all like weed medium strong to strong general purpose up-high. spacey. repeated use gave only relatively short buzz dry eyes after a lot rating: B

Utopia Haze (2 g) aquired: Barney's Farm smoked strain before: no verdict: unusual smell, somewhere between lemons and a sporting goods store nice, at ease putting up-high dry eyes after a lot solid stuff rating: A- Neville's Haze (2 g) aquired: De Dampkring (Harlemmerstraat) smoked strain before: no verdict: had to try this legend even tho i was already drowning in haze high and buzz are all in the head unique earthy/aromatic smell soaring up-buzz, slightly trippy strong long lasting rating: A L.A. Confidential (1 g) aquired: De Dampkring (Harlemmerstraat) smoked strain before: yes verdict: had a very agressive smell very trippy buzz (loved it) strong to very strong long lasting surprisingly up for an indica dry eyes after alot made a very favorable impression on my sativa-loving brain rating: A Vanilla Kush (1 g) aquired: Barney's Farm smoked strain before: no verdict: slight vanilla smell, hint of fruityness strong balanced head/body high had a 'vibrating' buzz rating: B Blue Cheese (2 pre-rolled spliffs) aquired: Barney's Lounge smoked strain before: no [sorry, no pic] verdict: i smoked this on my last day it was exactly what i wanted in the given circumstances - a nice mellow high, but not too weak. can't really say more, sample size was too small rating: B that's it. i hope you enjoyed my excursions into the wide world of weed.
Yo this may be a dumb question but do you have to be a citizen to smoke in the coffee shops in Amsterdam my friend told me you did and I'm not sure now and planned on going over the summer. Is this true or can you just go in smoke with a u.s. pass port?? Thanks guys
no, in amsterdam everyone can smoke. some border towns made rules so that only dutch nationals can buy, because they had a lot of people from the neighboring countries smuggling it back home. but amsterdam won't be able to implement such laws, since they make way too much money from weed tourism. enjoy your trip!

no problem, dude. glad i can help! i didn't really pay attention to the prices too much, but pretty good weed is from 10 euros up (dunno how low the $ is against € ATM). most expensive i ever bought was "dr. grinspoon" from barney's farm. that was € 17,-, but totally worth it IMHO. you can get cheaper the further you get away from the tourist centers. and standard strains like white widow can be had for about €8 IIRC.
Heh...you seem to spent a lot of vacations i A´dam. If I could snatch one baggy away from you I guess it would be that L.A. Confidential. I don´t live too far away from the netherlands myself and even for me it´s too annoyingly far to go to A´dam...but I guess it´s about time again.
