2019 Outdoor Organic Grow

Discussion in 'Organic Grow Journals' started by Skip I am, May 18, 2019.

  1. This has been a ongoing project since the end of last years bottled nute grow. In October I started amending and preparing the soil with cover crops and mulch.

Here we are week 3 since being transplanted outdoors.

In all I have 12 plants. Black Diesel, Shiskaberry, Blue Dream, 2 Pounder, and a mystery bag seed from what we believe to be another black diesel.

Planted 60 marigolds as companion plants around the garden today with another 2 bags of 10k seeds scattered around the entire grow area.

Fed a EWC, and alfalfa tea yesterday evening and everything seems to be on the up in up. I do have 1 plant that is struggling but I feel it's an over watering issue and have not watered that 25 gallon pot in about a week now.

    Here's to a awesome 2019 Season erbody. 20190518_124824.jpg 20190518_094139.jpg 20190518_124831.jpg 20190518_124852.jpg 20190518_124900.jpg 20190518_124932.jpg

  5. Put the second cage on the bigger of the over winter veg plants. Going to start green tape tomorrow. The stalk is already as big as my thumb. 20190526_172919.jpg 20190526_173037.jpg

  6. My struggling auto. It was suffering from overwatering. But it has began to bounce back and is starting to bounce back. Buds are starting to form nicely. Strain is Incredible Bulk 1558917100750.jpg 20190526_173424.jpg 20190526_173319.jpg 20190526_173355.jpg

  7. Went outdoors May 11th. Put the second cage on this one yesterday and green taped it this morning. It's Shiskaberry from seed. 20190527_102407.jpg

  9. Indeed it does. It stays short for quite a long time then shoots for the moon. She's definitely still stacking up.

  10. Fed all the ladies corn sst today. Still have a solid 2 months of veg left and it's a pretty hardy strain for the Washington climate. Shiskaberry. 20190608_181840.jpg

  11. The fruit punch continues to stack pretty densely. I gave it a kelp/ewc tea with seabird guano last week along with dregs from my corn from the garden plants. For comparison this is a lapse of 25 days.

  12. Was looking at my reveg bud from a shiskaberry last season and I'm impressed. It had a pretty slow winter with various issues. After moving it outside in to the no-till bed it is bouncing back rather well now. The last pic is what it looked like not long before moving it outdoors on may 11th. The brown woody stem now has hulk green busting through it and growth has started to greatly increase.

  13. Black diesel growing strong. About due for the 2nd cage. Been giving kelp and silica foliar once a week and teas in between.

The last pic is a beautiful feeling when transition is about a month out. 20190623_120746.jpg 20190623_121034.jpg

  14. @BrassNwood earlier this season I used garden sulphur to correct my 8.5 alkaline soil. You mentioned at that time that you top dress it twice a season. Did the plants exhibit negative changes or did you just do it at a time interval? My garden seems to be going strong and I think the biggest reason is the micro herds. I did add sulfur in February/March at the indicated rate.

  15. @Skip I am

Yes, I'm still on the same Sulfur amend routine as I was. I run 4 harvests per year and amend with pound of Chicken manure and a tablespoon of Sulfur Dust or prills every other planting. Seems to be the sweet spot for my style, water, and soil conditions.

Glad to see the Sulfur working out for you as well. :)

  16. Fruit Punch auto is on its last 2ish weeks. The fans are definitely beginning to fade much faster every day. Home stretch now for her just giving her water only till she's done. 1561946854553.jpg 1561946930652.jpg

  17. Bigger batch of compost tea for the 55 gallon can. 3 cups of bu's, 3 cups ewc, 2 cups alfalfa meal, 4tsp RAW molasses. Will probably end up being diluted down to about 70 gallons by the time I refill my barrel mid way through. 20190701_143622.jpg

  18. Decided against refilling barrel halfway through and just split it with another 30 gallon can I used for water last season.
