Most of us who are regular cannabis users have been saying for years that smoking weed has made our sex lives better, despite the claim that it was dangerous. There is certainly a lot of anecdotal evidence out there, but there was scant scientific evidence that cannabis actually did improve your sex life, there was scant scientific evidence. That is until now, Forbes reports.
A new study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine sought to figure out once and for all whether or not there was a correlation between cannabis use and frequency of sexual activity. In other words, they were trying to figure out whether or not the couple that tokes together pokes (more) together. As it turns out, the answer is a pretty resounding yes.
The study analyzed data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in which 28,176 women and 22,943 men participated in a long and broad questionnaire. The results were rather illuminating. They showed that among other things, daily users were having 20% more sex than their non cannabis using counterparts. Nice.
Another study published by the same journal interviewed 133 sexually active women, concerning their use of cannabis before getting down and dirty. 38 of those women disclosed cannabis use. Out of those 38, 68% said cannabis made their sexual experience better, while 16% said that it was worse. The last 16% said that it made no difference. This was attributed to cannabis’, in particular CBD’s ability to relieve anxiety.
