004 - Substrate Materials (2014-Feb-5, 18h22)

Not champion stuff but this is actually available at my local store(s). My self-watering bucket has a capacity is 7.5 liters and i fill it starting with a fluffy density mix then the material becomes denser and more fertile as the container gets full. I've used a generous amount of perlite, a somewhat lesser quantity of vermiculite, added darker stuff as the soil piled up, and then i finished by removing some of this substrate in the center to fill the resulting trench with lighter potting soil as i don't want to cause a fertilizer burn.
