Cannabidiol aka CBD, the non psychoactive component in cannabis has a number of medical uses. So far we’ve discovered that it can be used to treat diabetes, inflammation, as well as a number of other medical conditions. Did you know that CBD can be helpful in healing pet’s broken bones. Wow, is there anything this plant can’t do? At this point I’m kind of starting to doubt it.
Washington Post reported that researchers from Tel Aviv’s Bone Research Laboratory in Israel found that CBD helped the healing process in rats with broken bones after eight weeks. This study was published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research.
Yankel Gabet of the Bone Research Laboratory, who was in charge of the study stated that his findings in particular showed that CBD actually made bones stronger during the healing process, which goes a long way toward preventing broken bones in the future. This is because CBD helps with the maturation of collagen, the protein in connective tissue that occurs throughout your body. You can read Gabet’s entire statement here.
There is no doubt that research like this could go a long way in helping treat people for osteoporosis and other bone density disorders. We’ll just add this one to the column of things that can possibly be treated with CBD.
