Cards Against Humanity Joins The Legalization Cause

  • Comments

If you’re a fan of the “party game for horrible people” Cards Against Humanity as well as a cannabis enthusiast, then you shouldn’t hesitate to pick up the latest pack that was just released. The newly minted “Weed Pack” is wrapped in green foil and sells for five dollars a pop. Proceeds from the sales of the new Weed Packs will go towards the Marijuana Policy Project and the legalization effort in Illinois, where the creators of Cards Against Humanity are from.

The game’s creators also donated 70k to the Marijuana Policy Project. Head writer Jo Feldman had this to say, “We’re proud to support the Marijuana Policy Project because our current marijuana laws are failing. Nationally there are more arrests for marijuana possession each year than for all violent crimes combined. The MPP has been at the forefront of changing marijuana laws for the better, in Illinois and nationwide.” This isn’t the first time that the Cards Against Humanity duo has gotten involved in political causes. Last year, they released the “America Votes” packs, two separate packs about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. You may also remember back in 2014 they released an expansion pack called “Bullshit” which contained actual shit.

Currently, the state is going through a budget crisis. A bill to legalize and market cannabis was introduced in March and will be up for review this January. The bill, which was introduced by state representatives Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) and Heather Steans (D-Chicago), would allow adults to buy and grow their own cannabis.

You can buy the new packs here and if you’re in the mood for a laugh you can check out this hysterical video released by Cards Against Humanity.
