As you are definitely aware of, there will be a total solar eclipse tomorrow morning for the first time in decades. The question that has probably been in the forefront of your mind is no doubt: should I get high during the eclipse? Well, of course you should get high. Now that we’ve established this, onto the real questions.
Which Strain Should I Smoke?
Personally, I would go with a strain that enhances your vision. Ask for one that gives you slight visuals, you know one, that will make the colors pop. I would go with a strong sativa, such as Super Silver Haze or Hawaiian Snow. An indica would be nice and relaxing, but it might not be the best if you are planning on going to an eclipse viewing party. If you’re planning on camping out, then I would recommend Mt. Hood Magic, a strain known for making you feel energetic and bubbly. This one is pretty rare though, so good luck on your search.
What Am I Smoking Out Of?
The best consumption tools for your eclipse viewing would no doubt be something portable and battery powered. After all, you wouldn’t want to miss anything because you had to look down and light your pipe. Use a portable vape, or a vape pen. Those are battery powered and all you need to do is push a button and inhale. If you don’t have a vape or vape pen, a one hitter would be your next best bet, since you don’t have to look down to light it. Make sure that your pieces are properly charged up!
How High Should I Get?
As high as you want. The obvious answer would probably be to get as high as you possibly can. This isn’t necessarily the best option for everyone. I of course will be getting baked, but I still want to be lucid while watching the eclipse. Will you have to drive afterwards? Will you have to go to work? If the answer to either of these is no, then party your ass off. If you have other obligations, then you shouldn’t get yourself high to the point of incapacitation. You still want to be able to remember this cosmic wonder, which you won’t if you take ten dabs before viewing. That’s why I’ll probably end up doing half an edible and calling it good.
Other Things I Should Know?
I can’t stress enough how important it is that you wear those special eclipse viewing glasses. I know they look dorky as hell, but you can go blind from staring directly into an eclipse. Solar radiation can still damage your eyes, even during an eclipse. Go buy some glasses, they only cost a dollar, and that’s way better than spending the rest of your life blind. If you’re planning on going camping to find a good spot for eclipse viewing, then you should probably leave as soon as you’re done reading this. Seriously, traffic is going to be insanely gridlocked, especially if you’re traveling to, or are already in Oregon. What are you waiting for? Get going!
Have fun and be safe!
