6 Bong Accessories That Perfect Your Piece

Although your ideal bong might already come with most of the features you want, don't forget that there are other ways to improve the efficiency of your bong to make it perfect. Whether your dropped a load of cash on your piece, or just got the cheapest glass you could find, picking out some of these bong accessories will add some serious credibility to your piece!

1. Ashcatcher

An ashcatcher is a wonderful little device that attaches to the joint of your bong where your bowl would normally go. The end of the aschatcher is where you would then set your bowl, and it usually includes a water chamber and form of percolation. Ashcatchers are incredibly useful for your piece if you're trying to get a super smooth hit, or you're simply trying to keep your bong clean as long as possible.

2. Keck Clip

I swear by these magical little buggers, I think they're simply amazing. Although they're really just little plastic clips, the number of times they've saved me from smashing my bong, or accidentally pulling out my downstem, are numerous.

3. Bowl Screens

If you're really concerned about keeping your piece clean, pick up some bowl screens. They usually come in brass or steel, and it's really up to personal preference which type you use. You simply cut the screen to size, place it in your bowl, and get ready to toke! Remember that screens don't last forever, so you may want to get a small stockpile and save money in the long run.

4. Diffusing Downstem

Although most pieces generally come with a downstem, that doesn't mean that it's the best downstem available. Take a look around at the different styles of percolation, sizes, and length of downstems available for your piece. You never know what will make the difference in your toke until you experiment. A longer downstem might give you more drag, but also more percolation, but a shorter downstem might center your draw closer to the percolation system for increased diffusion that way. Don't even get me started on the different percolation styles available for downstems, you'll just have to experiment to find out what works best for you!

5. Extra Bowls

It's not only a good idea to have extra bowls, you know, just in case, but the type of bowl you're using can also have a great impact on the type of smoking experience you'll have. A smaller bowl might be more ideal for a personal smoke sesh, and you might also want a Super Bowl for when you get a crew together. One way to greatly expand your selection is to consider grabbing some adapters for your bong as well. Adapters will allow you to try out every size and style of bowl to find your ultimate bong design.

6. Nails

If you really want to shake up what you're doing with your bong, grab an adapter, a nail, and get ready to dab! Don't think that just because your piece isn't labeled as a "dab/oil rig" it can't throw down in the concentrate arena! Some of the best bongs make the best dab rigs, you just need to look around for the ideal setup for you!
