5 Ways You're Pissing Off Your Budtender

Are you treating the dispensary like a singles bar? Trying to haggle the prices? If you are doing any of these things, you are definitely pissing off your budtender.

Hitting On Them

Your budtender is at the dispensary to work, not to try to meet potential romantic partners. Hitting on them is probably the quickest and most surefire way to piss them off. Budtenders (particularly female ones) get hit on daily. My friend who works at a dispensary in Seattle says that she gets hit on no less than ten times a day. She’s not gonna say yes dude, and you look like a nerd in front of the other customers.

Acting Like You Know More About The Product Than They Do

I don’t care how much you think you know about herb, your budtender knows more about it than you. That’s because they are paid to know a lot about it. Chances are, you are not paid to be knowledgeable about weed. Shut up about the differences between Blackberry Kush and Purple Kush, and let them do their job. You might end up learning something.

Taking Up Their Time With Mindless Chitchat

Your budtender is there to answer questions and they are happy to answer any that you might have. Just make sure that the questions pertain to bud, specifically, their bud. Your budtender doesn’t want to answer questions about how much they smoke, or anything like that. They are not there to be your buddy. If your budtender wants to chill, they will let you know.

Asking Them For A Discount

Your budtender is there to sell you weed, but that does not mean that they are your dealer, so don’t treat them like they are one. Don’t ask for hookups or discounts. Don’t tell them “I’ll pay you Tuesday.” First of all, it makes you look like a cheap douche. Secondly, they are probably not authorized to give you one anyway. Even if your budtender were allowed to give discounts, they probably wouldn’t. The dispensary is after all, a business. You don’t go into the Gap and ask them for a discount. Do you haggle with the cashier at Ralph’s?

Paying In Change

Yes, I have witnessed this before. Dispensaries can only take cash, but that doesn’t mean that you should pay in change. This pisses off anyone, and your budtender is certainly no exception. If you have enough change to buy a bag of weed, surely you can manage to take it to a bank and exchange it for bills.
